20,000 Employees at Braun and Sabre Inc. Access Web-Based Org Charts Using OrgPublisher for Intranets and SAP R/3
PHILADELPHIA - Sept. 13, 1999 - Aquire, Inc. announced today during the SAPPHIRE '99 users conference in Philadelphia that Braun GmbH of Germany and Sabre (NYSE: TSG) of Texas - are rolling out Web-based organizational charting capabilities to more than 20,000 employees worldwide using OrgPublisher for Intranets™.
Braun, a leading electric appliances manufacturer based near Frankfurt, Germany, is just beginning its technical implementation of Aquire's OrgPublisher for Intranets, and expects to chart 9,000 employees. Sabre has recently given its 11,000 employees access to on-line org charts through its corporate intranet site. Both companies use OrgPublisher to automatically capture employee data from either their SAP R/3 Human Resources systems or another middleware employee database. OrgPublisher then delivers the data to the corporate intranet sites for on-line publishing. "OrgPublisher for Intranets is the best Web-based charting tool that integrates well with SAP R/3 and can handle the volume of data we have," said Joerg Hansen, manager of special projects for Braun, which manufacturers consumer electronic products such as shavers, electronic toothbrushes and coffeemakers. "Its ease-of-use also allowed us to completely download, install and test-use the software immediately. An added plus is Aquire's immediate response to our questions and inquiries." At Sabre, a Fort Worth, Texas-based provider of information technology solutions for the transportation industry, OrgPublisher offers technical simplicity and added value for employees, said Leah Orenstein, human resources systems manager for Sabre. "OrgPublisher's Web-based org-charting capabilities allow our managers and employees worldwide to view the organizational structure of our company," said Orenstein. "This facilitates a greater understanding of our organization among employees and also improves employee communications," she said. It is also easy to navigate through the org charts using OrgPublisher's drill-up and drill-down functions.
"OrgPublisher extends beyond just being able to place org charts on the Web," said Orenstein. "For example, I can create a chart and tabulate employee head counts and even see different groupings, such as domestic versus international employees." Last month, Aquire, Inc. released OrgPublisher for Intranets, Version 3, which incorporates a Summary Engine that allows enterprise and ERP reporting functions within the interactive, on-line organizational charts. OrgPublisher is compatible with all ERP applications, including SAP, Baan and PeopleSoft.
