Fast 50 companies must have 1996 operating revenues of at least $50,000 and 2000 operating revenues of at least $1,000,000; must be a U.S. company developing and/or providing technology products or services; and must have been in business for at least five years. The finalists are eligible to compete in the Technology Fast 500, also sponsored by Deloitte & Touche, ranking the nation's top 500 fastest growing technology companies. Rising Stars Also Named "In technology, the pace of change gets faster every year," Mr. Rothe said. "That's why we've added the Rising Stars category to recognize technology companies that are quickly making a name for themselves. They have met the same criteria as the Fast 50, except they have been in business a minimum of three years, but less than five years. We expect to see these Rising Stars on the Fast 50 very soon."

Deloitte & Touche named six Texas Crescent Technology Rising Star award winners for 2001.
