Aquire Inc. spotlighted by Greater Dallas Chamber for International Success.
Aquire Inc., the Irving, Texas-based market leader in providing Internet/intranet-based resource-management software, was named winner of the Greater Dallas Chamber's sixth annual International Business Achievement Awards, to be given Dec. 7 at the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas. Aquire, which won in the small-to-medium-sized business category, shares the honor with EDS, who won in the large-corporation category.
"This recognition exemplifies the hard work of our employees and international business partners during the last two years," said Lois Melbourne, founder and president of Aquire. "We charted a course starting in 1999 to offer online org-charting and strategic data analysis for multi-national companies seeking an effective means to manage their human capital, be it in Dallas or Denmark. We're proud of this honor." Aquire, a $4 million privately held company, serves more than 1,400 customers located in 50 countries. These customers represent a variety of industries, including automotive, finance, health care, information technology, manufacturing, telecommunications, transportation and education, among others.
The Chamber awards are sponsored by Grant Thornton and other companies, and are presented annually to companies that exemplify the international entrepreneurial spirit of the greater Dallas area. This year, the awards presented are in three categories: (1) international success by a large corporation,(2) international success by a small-to-medium-sized business, and (3) an individual showing outstanding contributions in helping to make Dallas an international city.
Additional winners include Plano, Texas-based EDS (NYSE: EDS), the leading global services company, which provides strategy, implementation and hosting for clients managing the business and technology complexities of the digital economy; and Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk, who has served as the city and the region's strongest proponent of international development.
