Aquire Launches OrgPublisher for Intranets™ 4
Aquire, Inc., the market leader in Internet/Intranet-based organizational charting software, has released OrgPublisher for Intranets 4, the newest version of the web-based application that automatically transforms existing data into strategic information via its Intranet-based organizational charting features. OrgPublisher, the first "visual knowledge management" software, provides managers and corporate users with desktop access to enterprise data. Features of OrgPublisher 4 include simple language querying, advanced Extensible Markup Language (XML) connectivity and more. "OrgPublisher 4 offers a profoundly new way for executives, managers and employees to access, collect, analyze and strategize using enterprise information," said Lois Melbourne, President and co-founder of Aquire. "Every business, no matter its size or industry, needs to empower its employees with corporate intelligence to facilitate positive change. With OrgPublisher 4 and a browser, employees can access, search, analyze and visualize organizational structure, departments, salaries, budgets, head counts, quarterly sales, annual revenue, assets and more." Users can create and distribute various types of charts in all types of colors, styles and formats. Two of the newest additions to OrgPublisher are customer-requested visual features:
Multi-Level Peer Structures that can be displayed automatically or manually, depending on how in-depth a company, division or department prefers to display its structure. This offers users absolute control over the graphical display of company hierarchical structure. Assistants with Direct Reports extends organizational charts beyond traditional hierarchies. This feature adds flexibility to ever-changing, ever-evolving corporate structures.
Companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Bayer Corp., and Reliant Energy use OrgPublisher to chart hundreds, even thousands of employees. OrgPublisher delivers information in an easy-to view format, and allows it to be collected, cultivated, and individualized with specific Search, Save, and Group functions. Users can:
- Conduct data-mining efforts using simple-text searches.
- Query and cultivate the data using a Group Editor, which expands and refines searches using simple text and Boolean logic.
- View search results in a compact list view - similar to a table - and as an organizational chart, and easily copy and paste results into virtually any software application like Microsoft® Excel or PowerPoint.
- Perform numerical tallies and analyses, such as budget roll-ups, average FTE, departmental head counts, or regional sales.
- Save search results as Groups, which are used for on-the-fly data analysis, such as assessing hiring trends, tenure and tracking contract staff.
- Share and distribute Groups with other employees to increase efficiency, for instance, identification of employees with special skill sets or tracking corporate open positions by region.
OrgPublisher 4 also adds XML connectivity and continues to integrate with ODBC-compliant databases and LDAP-compliant directory servers. Users can automatically generate organizational charts and publish to the Internet or corporate Intranets using any data source, from comma-delimited text files, to databases from IBM, Microsoft or Oracle®, to enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, such as GEAC, Oracle, PeopleSoft®, SAP®, and Tesseract. Hundreds of Aquire customers such as American Airlines, Evans & Sutherland and Ralston Purina Company, publish organizational charts in these environments. OrgPublisher combines the power of database technology with the inherent value of interactive Intranet-based organizational charting that is affordable and graphically appealing.
