Organizational Charts Just Took On A Whole New Meaning
- Aquire Announces Availability of OrgPublisher 5 -
IRVING, Texas — September 2, 2003 — Aquire, Inc., an international provider of Web-based organizational charting software, today announced the availability of OrgPublisher 5. The latest version of the company’s flagship product, OrgPublisher for Intranets™, now provides organizations with greater flexibility in the way that they create and distribute organizational charts. OrgPublisher 5 not only provides additional org chart formatting and printing options, it provides security features, indirect (matrix) reporting features, end user accessibility for the visually impaired under US section 508 guidelines, as well as expanded data analysis capabilities.
OrgPublisher uses existing human resource data to automatically generate graphical, secure org charts containing as little as 100 employees or as many as one million employees. Existing human resource data can be accessed from virtually any source, such as Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, ADP or Excel and Outlook email lists. End users may view accurate org chart information via the company’s Intranet, Web browser, paper copy and Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) device.

OrgPublisher 5 Features Enhancements and Additions
Enhanced Printing – Printing your org chart just got easier. Test out wall chart print preview enhancements, header and footer modifications, book style printing automatically optimized to place more boxes on each page, preview option, the ability to include more than two levels per page and custom page breaks.
Chart Backgrounds – Now you can incorporate color gradients, chart and box backgrounds, as well as a graphic in the chart background to form a watermark.
Group Icons – Ever wish you could just select a unique icon to associate with a specific group? You can now.
Search View – This new feature opens within the List View and displays a list of everyone in the chart or selected section of the chart or group. Using Search View, users can copy a list, save a new group, easily create a phone list from any point down in the chart or send e-mail to a selected group.
Staff Function Box Type – Positioned similarly to Assistant boxes, the staff function box actually allows a full hierarchy beneath it. Staff Function boxes with direct reports always display a drill down button no matter how many levels display in the chart.
Security – Administrators can now determine who has access to certain information within the chart using role/group based security. In addition, hierarchical security can limit an individual’s access to only their direct area of management within the chart.
PluginX – It now remembers the last box visited in your published chart. Administrators can choose which toolbar buttons appear. In addition, “My Groups” allows users to create and save their own queries or user defined reports. You can also create e-mail distribution groups.
Matrix Reporting – It’s easy to find a person’s other reporting relationships too.
Profile View Hyperlinks – You can use Profile View to link to other Web pages and applications.
508 End User Accessibility – Enable the 508 Accessibility Option in OrgPublisher's Publishing Wizard so that PluginX published org charts can be accessed by JAWS® for Windows screen reading software for the visually impaired.
