Trustmark (NASDAQ: TRMK), a diverse and efficient financial services company with more than 50 offices in Mississippi and Tennessee, recently discovered one area where inefficiency reigned. The problem was its organizational charting solution — or, more accurately, the lack of a solution. Trustmark was updating its organizational charts manually. It was taking five associates up to 50 hours each, per month, to generate charts. Then it deployed OrgPublisher, an organizational charting software solution by Aquire.

With tens of thousands of employees worldwide and products marketed in more than 100 countries, this highly distributed company is constantly looking to streamline operations and help its workforce and management make better, faster decisions in order to provide better products in a globally competitive environment.

The problem was simple — but until Aquire came into the picture, it was also unsolvable. A global defense company with more than 100,000 employees was spending too much time and money trying to create organizational charts. The company was struggling with how to centralize employee data for the charts, which was housed in both PeopleSoft® and Lawson®. It also wanted more flexibility and accuracy, increased efficiency and better HR decisions, along with improved visibility throughout the organization.

In 2004, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania decided that too much of the information it was collecting about its 100,000-plus employees wasn’t being used effectively. Additionally, there were too many errors in data, and employees were spending too much time trying to create static org charts. Since the Commonwealth was implementing SAP for Enterprise Resource Planning, it decided to search for a centralized organizational charting solution that could integrate easily with SAP while helping HR professionals do their jobs.

HR specialists at Solvay, a global leader in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, were faced with more complex hierarchies and responsibilities as the company grew in size and global presence. Besides geographical factors, the separation of functional and hierarchical structures, which is typical for multiline organizations, added to the complexity of their organizational design. Couple that with a lack of visibility to these structures and the HR department was left without the necessary information needed to plan, develop and manage critical workforce data.

A Fortune 1000 company, Autodesk is wholly -focused on ensuring that great ideas are turned into reality. When it needed a new organizational charting solution, Autodesk had several goals in mind: Flexibility. Efficiency. Simple SAP integration. Improved workflow and improved visibility throughout the organization. Increased user adoption. One thing it already knew: The software it was using — an Aquire competitor — wasn’t getting the job done.

It all started with the installation of a new Human Resource Information System at ATB Financial, a Canadian provider of banking and financial services. The process of migrating to the new system drove home the need for added efficiency regarding the hiring, tracking, management and deployment of employees. One of the required tools to achieve these goals, ATB realized, would be a new organizational charting solution.

Deere & Company may be rooted in an age-old activity — farming — but when it comes to sowing the seeds of efficiency, it never stops looking for more fertile ground. Its organizational charting solution is a good example. With a highly distributed global business, it needed a better way for managers to quickly and easily access and use information about its workforce.

With more than 30 years of expertise, 15,000 customers and a million licensed users, Micro Focus had grown to become an enterprise application modernization company serving more than 70 of the Fortune Global 100 companies. But its growth was bringing challenges. In order to stay nimble and to save time and money, it needed information about its workforce — clear, easily obtained, actionable information.

Colorcon needed to make better use of the vital HR information residing in the Oracle module it was using for its global Human Resource programs. While the employee information was available, there was no simple, scalable way for managers and directors to quickly see how the company was structured from top to bottom or to obtain actionable HR information.

The governing body of Southwark, a borough of London, England, needed an automated, simple way to give its 5,500-member staff access to updated, accurate HR information from its SAP application. Additionally, managers wanted individuals without SAP HR access to be able to access HR information siloed there.

The Harris County Hospital District includes Ben Taub Hospital, LBJ Hospital and other facilities. With one of the highest concentrations of uninsured and underinsured individuals in the nation, it has gained national attention for its critical healthcare needs.

With their internal organizational reporting solution unable to chart every one of their 25,000 employees in three countries, Daimler AG’s North American business units were making decisions based on an incomplete workforce picture. Their search for a complete charting solution that could also integrate with Daimler’s existing global HRIS ended with an endorsement from one of their own.

When this regional grocery chain of 150+ stores made a major operations strategy change, it required radical restructuring of every department. The current method of manually creating charts to test multiple scenarios was no longer an option. Find out why OrgPublisher Premier, along with Succession and Modeling, proved to be a wise buy for this retailer.
